Customer Reviews: Great at the current price April 27, 2010 A. Gaydo (Hoboken, NJ) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I just got myself a G9x mouse and was immediately shocked by the hand fatigue from the mouse. I really wanted to like the mouse, so I looked into what I could do to relieve the fatigue. I stumbled across the ID grip, which mimics the more traditional MX518/G500 mouse shape (higher and longer than the other included grips to better cradle the palm). Logitech no longer personalizes them to order and probably won't ever again as I have read. Thankfully, Amazon is selling these (albeit not personalize-able). At $19.99, no deal. However, at the $8 that Amazon is now selling them, decent deal. After putting the new grip on, I immediately realized that my hand and arm were more comfortable (much like other Logitech mice I've used in the past). If you're unsatisfied with the feel of your G9/G9x, definitely look into this.
Even better than the stock grips July 24, 2010 B. Rodgers (Officially Undisclosed) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Hopefully the texturized parts don't wear off like the original one did. The image on the palm might as well just be black for all I care, so it wasn't worth paying extra for a personalized one from Logitech directly.
Might be too big if you have very small hands, but otherwise, it's a great compliment to excellent mouse hardware.
Right size - price varies June 7, 2010 A. Peck This is the missing size from the retail package. If you are going to spend this much money on a mouse it needs to have a grip that is comfortable to regular hands.
I have M/L size hands for a guy and both the original grips with the mouse were so small it gave me hand cramps over gaming sessions. This one however feels great. Its the same size as the logitech mx revolution mouse. The graphic on it is generic enough to not be a distraction or look dated. Its basically black/white/gray. It has a good texture on both sides and the contour of the thumb is natural [right handed only].
I paid $7.74 with free shipping through Amazon in May 2010. For that price it was a no-brainer. However, the price on this grips varies wildly. At the time of this post it is $15.60 with free shipping. So if you catch the price right for you, don't wait around to buy it. This is the only grip replacement I have found on the after market and I am a savvy well connected shopper. Logitech is silly to not have sent this size to start with and is leaving money on the table by not offering it themselves.
Bottom line, if the grips in the original package are too small for you- buy this and enjoy the mouse for years to come.
Good Concept POOR Value January 24, 2010 WanderlustX2 (Worthington, OH USA) 2 out of 7 found this review helpful
$20 for a small light weight piece of plastic isn't much of deal just for a graphic on the cover. The mouse ships with 2 covers, one with grips and one smooth so there's no need to drop $20 more on this unless money means nothing to you. When I bought the mouse, I thought it was a nice concept to have a replaceable cover and this wouldn't be too bad if it were at least HALF of what they're selling them for. What's really ridiculous is that the G9 mouse is $60 but a cover is $20? The old Ideazon keyboard replacements for games were only $20 and that was basically the entire keyboard inset.
My G9X mouse is awesome and replaced a G5 which replaced an MX518. Great mice but this is a rather poor price point.
