Amazon.com Product Description
Based on Hasbro's legendary Transformers property and one of the most anticipated films of 2009 from Paramount Pictures and DreamWorks Pictures, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen thrusts players into a battle for supremacy across the globe as either Autobots or Decepticons to drive, fly, fight and blast their way through intense, pressure-packed levels. Play as old friends from either side. View larger. | Easy toggling between forms. View larger. | Over-the-top action. View larger. | Delivering extensive control, gamers can select from the largest, most diverse range of playable Transformers ever – each with distinct personalities, abilities and weaponry – and jump straight into action as they instantly switch between robot, vehicle and weapon modes to fight for the preservation or annihilation of all mankind. In addition, for the first time in the Transformers universe, players on the Wii can also fight the epic war between Autobots and Decepticons in explosive co-op action. The Story Set a few years after the defeat of Megatron in the first game/movie, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen reveals that the threat from the Decepticons is in fact, far from ended. Since the time of the epic and apparently not so final battle between the two Transformer leaders, Decepticons have started popping up again all over Earth in alarming numbers. And now, a mysterious object from space seems destined to shift the balance of power and give the upper hand to the Decepticons. Mission-centric Gameplay Unlike Activision's Transformers: The Game, released along side the original movie back in 2007, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen relies less on open-world gameplay and more on structured, but varied mission play. The variety in these missions comes from the fact that players can align themselves with either the Autobots or Decepticons, and that the available missions both parallel the events of the movie, as well as events unique to the game. During these missions players will be able to play as a variety of different Transformers from either side of the conflict, and with success in mission play will be able to unlock additional Transformers and earn points used to upgrade your selected faction. Playable characters include on the Autobot side: Optimus Prime, Iron Hide, Breakaway, Bumblebee, and Ratchet; and from the Decepticon side: Starscream, Sideways (a new character), Grindor, Long Haul, and Megatron. The game features a simple control toggle that not only allows for quick switching between mech, vehicle and weapon forms, but also allows for a more easy learning curve of the acrobatic moves from the movie. Key Features - The Choice is Yours – Players can step into the shoes of their favorite Autobots and Decepticons such as Optimus Prime, Starscream, Bumblebee and Ironhide, along with new characters making their first appearance in a game. With two distinct campaigns that allow gamers to save or destroy the human race, gamers will unlock missions and be able to play them in any order they desire and with different characters for a whole new experience.
- Outmaneuver Your Opponents – Instantaneously convert from a colossal robot to a dynamic land or air vehicle such as a diesel truck, sports car, military chopper or fighter jet. New, ultra-fluid transformations can be performed in-motion anytime and anywhere, allowing players to strategically propel through and decimate hordes of enemies with incredible agility.
- Battle with Friends in Co-op Play – All new offline co-op gameplay lets you team up with a friend.
- Unique Control Scheme - Gesture-driven control system exclusively for the Wii.
- Demolish Your Enemies – Each Transformer can unleash a unique array of assaults on its enemies ranging from powerful missile attacks and rapid-fire chain guns to explosive energy blasts and visceral melee strikes, allowing players to pick from a variety of weapons and moves in their character's arsenal that deliver diverse gameplay in every brutal encounter.
- Intense, Heroic Missions – Every second is precious as players drive, fly, fight and blast their way through gripping, pulse-pounding levels straight from the film and beyond to determine the ultimate fate of the world.

Nice purchase... June 27, 2009 Soul to Steal (^^) 13 out of 15 found this review helpful
Transformers revenge of the fallen makes for a good purchase but I don't think it has enough replay value to justify its price unless you enjoy online multiplayer or if you enjoy collecting games like me ^^
Mission enviornments are nicely done and usually there are large amounts of destructable objects in each level.
Autobot and Decepticon models look good, are highly detailed with nice textures and everything is scaled correctly in game.
Each mission takes place on a open-map,some maps have pedestrians and vehicles that walk and drive around the city that can be either crushed or destroyed ^^
Free roam is nice but there are no enemies to fight, it would've been nice if the developer luxoflux had added bots and possibly a skirmish mode like they had in Vigilante 8 and Second offense to give the game more replayability, I know that may be asking too much considering this is a movie licensed game...One negative is when the robot transforms to a vehicle we can't stop or reverse, the vehicle is always zooming forward, Its frustrating.
I completed both campaigns in about 8 hours but I was taking my time and having fun exploring the maps, blasting enemies and laying waste to enviornmental objects, I really like stepping on the tiny little pedestrians ^^
14 zones containing 23 missions take place in such exotic locations such as the American east and west coast, the Atlantic ocean, Egypt and China.
The enemy AI seems intelligent enough to provide some fun, they will climb buildings or transform between different vehicles but they usually don't present much of a challenge.
I recommend it... Its fun, looks nice graphically, provides a fair challenge but doesn't have much replay value unless you play the missions over and over or play online.
Awesome Game(better than the first) June 24, 2009 R. Boden 9 out of 11 found this review helpful
There are multiple reasons why this game is better than the first. Firstly the game is more focused on gun combat than melee combat, secondly you can transform in mid-air using a new unique control, and thirdly new characters for each campaign and a variety of characters as well. Your enemy robots don't have their force field up everytime you fire your gun weapon unlike the first game, which spices up the destruction! This game is challenging and an AWESOME game to play!
Pretty Fun Game June 29, 2009 Casimus Prime 7 out of 9 found this review helpful
I bought this game the day I saw the movie which was opening day. I have to say, for [...], it's a bit different than the original. 1st things 1st, you can't play as the faction you want, you play the level you are given. The advantage is the fact that once you beat them, you can play them again if you want. You can't transform at will, but if you push the down arrow on the controller, it gives them a special transformation attack. I am currently on the level where you have to beat Prime as Megatron. The reason you can't pick factions is because it follows with the movie. I have yet to play as Skids, Mudflap, and Ravage. Anyway, if you are looking for a Transformers game that trounces over than the original, than I highly recomend you buy this game.
Excellent Fun! July 19, 2009 DisneyMom (Peoria, Arizona United States) 7 out of 9 found this review helpful
I'm really surprised by the negative reviews of this game. I recently picked it up on PC and am having loads of fun with it. The controls were a bit difficult for me to get used to at first, but once I'd played for a bit (and it helps that you can do each scenario over and over again as often as you want) they became second nature (and, of course, you can reset them as you like). I love the versatility of each character, and I enjoy replaying missions with different characters (or even the same character, utilizing different skills). The post-mission dialogue changes depending on how well (or poorly) you did in various aspects (collateral damage, amount of time spent on the mission, etc.), which makes replaying it even more fun. And I haven't even played any of the Decepticon campaigns yet!
My only complaint is that it is too short. I'd like to see more missions. I'd also like to see additional skill upgrades. Because you can replay each mission as often as you want, and earn energon each time, you can easily max out your levels long before playing the final mission. It almost makes the game too easy.
All in all, I've found this game to be a lot of fun. I'm enjoying playing it over and over again. If it weren't for family and work obligations, I'd probably never get off this game!
Wow, this game was way better than I expected! July 20, 2009 Lisa H (Las Vegas, NV) 7 out of 9 found this review helpful
The last Transformers video game is too difficult for my son. However, my son is having a blast with this Revenge of the Fallen game! Our household really loves Transformers and saw the movie on opening night,so we all get into this game. The game is so exciting to play. My son is still getting used to the controls but he's doing well enough to advance pretty good through the game since he's had it over the past two days. He will be starting preschool in a couple of months. I usually don't let him play a game as much at one time like I have been but he's amazing me and my husband, and my husband loves playing it with him even though he's not the gaming type. It was worth the money spent already!
