5 out of 5 stars Where's the movie?!   December 30, 2009
Chad Varnadore (Salisbury, NC)
When I bought my PS3 back in 2006, this was the first game I had played since selling my 1st generation Playstation nearly 15 years ago, to focus on my studies. Boy was it addictive then and still holds my interest 3 years later. Many a weekend night was spent in front of the TV that first month I played it. More than any other game I've played or even heard of, I'd love to see Hollywood turn this game into a movie. The WWII setting, provided the perfect ambience for the storyline and the graphics look great even on a 100 inch screen. I've played through the storymode 7 times now, I've achieved the highest rank in online play, and I wouldn't change a thing, other than make a better sequel than Resistance 2 delivered.

5 out of 5 stars Still a great game   June 19, 2010

This was a launch title for the PS3 by one of my favorite developers; Insomniac. The single player campaign is the best in the series so far but the multiplayer was definitely improved upon in Resistance 2. The multiplayer in this one is still a blast, however, and it is an excellent game.

4 out of 5 stars Not bad   August 17, 2009

The games for the PS3 do not seem to have very many 2 player games that DON'T require internet. Which is one reason I enjoyed this game so much, because it was an actual two player game and both players could play the entire storyline (not just certain chapters like some games that say they are two player). My boyfriend and I loved playing this game. The graphics are pretty good, the storyline isn't bad, even though I would like to skip over the whole 'movie scenes' that they do and get back to the actual game.

Overall, this game is fun and I thought it was worth the money.

One thing before I review this on my reviews with 2 or 3 parts to the people who mark it negitive just cause it has 2 or 3 parts and not because you disliked or disagreed with the review All I have say to the haters f**k you! If you mark it negitive cause you disliked or disagreed w/ it that's fine. If you find a review helpful thank you. Just read all the parts of the review. Anyway this was the 1st PS3 game I purchased in early 07. Resistance Fall of Man the sory there is this alien life form called the Chimera they have taken over Russia and migrated into Europe and have invaded the last European country England the U.S sent 12,000 troops but were over ran by some kind of bug that infected them with the Chimeran virus The only survivor is Nathan Hale and had been infected with the Chimeran virus and is part Chimera. You battle through England to stop the Chimera from taking over the last European country. This isn't just another FPS it's got likeable characters Hale Parker Cartwright.

3 out of 5 stars Ages more like milk than wine   January 18, 2010

Before I start my review I have to say that I didn't play this game until 2010, by which time it was several years old. I missed out on most of the first generation PS3 games because I didn't buy one until MGS4 was released. I just wanted to give a time frame to my review as this game would have been much better when released.

That said if you are reading a review now I would guess its because you are contemplating picking this game up for the first time. The story line and the action are good and Resistance has a lot going for it. The ability to play split screen coop is really a great addition. But the graphics feel very dated as does the control set up. With games like Modern Warfare 2 and Assassins Creed 2 pushing graphics beyond what we thought possible just a few years ago, it makes Resistance feel even more dated. The control layout is also not as intuitive as many other games. Granted I've been spoiled by the CoD series but even so I think its something that could have been better thought out.

The story line is very interesting, if you are after a shooter with a story and not just mindless carnage the whole Resistance time line is very interesting. You come across things in your adventures that also explain things more and more and while some of it is a little cliche the story has aged better than the game play has.

With the top tier games out now a days I'd have to say I'd recommend a pass on this for most people. Those who would like to play Resistance 2 and have the whole story might want a play through but most other would be better served elsewhere.
